Up at five. Barometer 30.2. Clean crisp cold windless weather. Lewis started early to adjust that bothersome slipping clutch and we had

prospects of being in Yonkers by the afternoon. At 10 AM clutch was as far as we could make it but when we tried to start the motor it refused to work and Lewis kept at it uninterruptedly till about 3:30 P.M when finally it went and we could proceed.
