Took stroll along beach, no bathers, a large agglomeration of [[red underline]] skeleton houses covered with palm leaves [[/red underline]] each provide with a wooden platform on which to erect the tent over the skeleton, and running water available.  All bare now but am told entirely occupied in summer.
[[red underline]] Took a sailboat out in the bay. Excellent bay easy sailing good depth and good anchorage and excellent shelter. [[/red underline]]  Am told there is never any severe wind yet always enough to sail.

Evenings [[strikethrough]] Japanese come [[/strikethrough]] "white" men return first, then Portugese then the [[red underline]] Japanese. The latter immediately clean and paint their ships, while the "white" and Portugese [[/red underline]] lie down and smoke cigarettes. The [[red underline]] Japanese fleet [[/red underline]] is now on Mexican coast working for [[strikethrough]] Ir [[/strikethrough]] the Mexican canneries.
