Sept 23. More adjustments on engine take all day. Beautiful warm weather. South Westerly and Westerly wind. I conclude our clutch needs examination. This can best be done in Spuyten Duivil therefore change all my plans and intend to return and

interrupt my trip. Lewis puts camshaft back but tries in vain till dark to start motor
Sept 24. Beautiful weather. Lewis tries in vain to get motor going until afternoon when I discover his camshaft is put in wrong. Got Peters and his expert to put up camshaft right and remained at anchor over night
Sept 25 (Sunday) Left at day break. SE blowing and threatening sky. Tide against us but reached Spuyten Duivil by 11 A.M. George Roll came to fetch us in car in time for lunch. [[strikethrough]] [[?]] [[/strikethrough]] No important news nor mail
Sept 26. busy day attending belated matters. Lewis is examining clutch. Afternoon reports all trouble due to disks sticking in slide groove
