went to Ion and buy spreaders for Tarpaulin; lowered mast etc
Nov. 6. Here all day. Afternoon ^[[(Sunday)]] [[strikethrough]] [[?]] here [[/strikethrough]] Leonard Jacobi here for supper..
Nov 7. Went to boat. cleaning up things in afternoon.
Nov. 8. Election. Went to boat with Lewis arranged and cut main spreader etc.
Nov 9. Early to New York, spent all morning with Townsend and discussing condition of General Bakelite Co. and pending project of contract.
Then for lunch to Chemists Club then to R&H. to ask infor-

mation about accounts from Fantel, then met Scheussner, (Hamman is away) then to office of C.L Hays till 5:45P.M discussing his project of contract. Home in time for supper
Nov. 10. Called up Kirk Brown at the phone, he tells me he sent me a note yesterday and should better first read it. Note has not yet arrived at 10 AM.
Am notified Ion has been hauled out of the water and I went there with Lewis 
On returning home found note of Kirk Brown which explains nothing but cuts off our negotiations.
Evening went to annual dinner of Naval Consulting Board at Army and Navy Club in New York.
Nov. 11. Armistice day. offices closed. Spent afternoon
