That I saw the endless troubles in store for the future if we tried to patch up the present strife by a system of licensing. That therefore we must examine the feasibility of a merger, but that I deserved to discuss this subject in presence of my associates. Therefore suggested a meeting for Monday morning at the office of R & H, which was accepted.

Nov. 21. Early conference with Hays at R & H explained shortly to Hamman & Schleussner recent developments. Then to Townsend then home.

Nov. 22. Went to R & H office early to have preliminary meeting with Townsend Williams, Hays, Hamman & Schleussner, at which I explained the situation how far it had advanced, its weak and its good points. Telling them the whole matter was now submitted to them to either stop or continue. Williams had to leave at 10 AM but assured us he was in favor of the plan if it could be carried out fairly. Received same assurances to R & H & P.A.C. from Hamman and Schleussner. 
Then at 10:15 A.M. arrived Kirk Brown, Karpen and Berlitzheimer.
