Went to Century Club where Edwin Lefebvre, Augustus Thomas and Cauldwell invited me to a cock tail of their own making.
Afterward went to University Club for supper. Celine telephoned me the bad news that Baskerville is dangerously ill with pneumonia. I have lost so many of my friends of late that I hope some of them may be spared to me.
Dec. 6. At home all day. George Roll came to report and discuss matters with me. Got letter from Lawrence Byck who wants to resign so as to give more time to Embed Art Co. Told him to come and see me Sunday afternoon
