Further distressing news about condition of Baskerville. Seems little hope left. 
Jan 28. [[red underline]] Redman [[/red underline]] at University Club for lunch. Long discussion of plans and program of new company. Told him my opinion about Berlitzheimer not being qualified to head sales department as far as technical uses of Bakelite are concerned and to limit him to Transparent goods [[black underline]] under [[/black underline]] Kirk Brown.

We both agree that Kirk Brown has his limitations as far as conception of value of research and development work is concerned.
Heavy snow fall.
Evening to Century Club to hear Milukoff's talk on Russia. Went back to U.C. very tired, but was unable to fall asleep until 2:30 AM.
Jan 29 (Sunday). [[red underline]] Baskerville died [[/red underline]] last night and I feel very depressed, altho' we feared the bad news since several weeks I was still hoping against hope. What a pity! In the midst of his work and a very necessary man to his family and to his work.
Jan 30. Took train to Yonkers and returned with Celine
