March 4. Left for Miami with 6:20 P.M. train. Rain and sleet. Celine George Roll and his brother at station. Few passengers South at this time car almost empty
March 5. (Sunday) En route for Miami
March 6. Arrived Miami about one hour late. Scanning for a sailboat but found none 
Got little room $5.00 at McAllister Hotel
March 7. Went to Pelsang's yacht yard. Want 2½ c. per foot per day. Feet calculated by adding beam to overall length. This makes about $1½ per day for storage or nearly $600 per year.

me to his tropical experimental plant station. Later on met Carey Baldwin who drove me to the hotel.
Begin to feel more cheerful than last week. This warm weather and sun shine is my element. If I only had my boat instead of these monotonous hotels.
March. 8. Weather cooler and bright. Beautiful [[strikethrough]] Went to [[/strikethrough]] Took bus to seashore. Many changes in two years. Alton Beach all level, sidewalked and coconut palms along streets 
Electric car lines and pretty lamp posts, but very few houses. Seems to me like a reckless gamble for the immediate future in view of endless amount of money this must cost. Flamingo hotel enormous. Ask $15 per day.
