Their house is well situated on a bluff overlooking a beach and on the old fort itself. There an old cannon and gunwalls with look holes etc. A very picturesque setting. [[strikethrough]] In the [[/strikethrough] 
In the evening I invited them both for dinner and was joined later by a Mr. Camp who is Editor of Collins Weekly a very pleasant man.
March 18. Loitering around town and market. Marvelous climate put about 72°F all the time.
March 19. (Sunday) Went swimming at a wonderful beach where a little launch from the hotel transports its guests to Hog Island which is crossed thru a lane of coconut trees. Then undress in well made huts of palm leaves made by the native

Water very clear. Oranges peeled and on stick and coconut meat at the free disposal of bathers
Afternoon went walking then drove around. Bush is rather monotonous few large trees. Tomatoes, pineapples, sisal and sopadillas. Oranges seem scarce. Orange plantations were destroyed by a blight a few years ago. Natives all seem relatively prosperous (Booze-running?) and mostly all wear shoes
Among the yachts at anchor there are many who are under suspicion of bootlegging
Scrantee. Philadelphia. Double ended motor yacht about 60 feet and about 12' beam for sale $8000. [[raised?]] deck all over and well built for cruising
