July 17. Busy here all day with belated letters and bills, and writing excuses for unpaid bills of Celine. Sent $500 to her bank for overdrawn account and feel pretty well disgusted to have all these extra bothers when I have so many matters to attend

June 20. Drove to Bloomfield Left here 10:45 arrived there 12:45 Factory makes good impression well kept well planned. Documents and records well kept. Had long conference. Suggested chlorinating anthracene either alone or in solution of naphtalene or chlor-naphtalene
