July 29 Beautiful weather Westerly winds. Went out exploring bay in sailing Dinghy Enormous balloon shed built during the war for a dirigible but has never been used. Hotels or Clubs empty.
Lewis finally located trouble with magneto due to cross wires on switch. engine works much better.
Took run to Cape Henlopen Breakwater on entrance of Delaware Bay. Good shelter and good anchorage.
On returning, trouble with overheating of engine. P
July 30. Left early (Sunday) destination Sandy Hook. Left 5:40 AM sea high all along Southerly

breeze and tide against us Considerable trouble at first with cylinders overheating so had to run slower. The later improvement. After sunset when arriving in sight of Sandy Hook same trouble so had to crawl in in the dark and find this anchorage under difficulties and dodging fishnets.
