Aug 30. Left Hull for Gloucester in beautiful weather. (See log-book). Quaint and interesting port Got [[strikethrough]] mizzen alt [[/strikethrough]] mainsail altered to become a larger mizzen. Went sailing in dinghy. Excellent anchorage. 
Aug 31. Still at anchor waiting for my sail. Went sailing in dinghy. Splendid weather Calm evening.
September 1. 1922. Went thru Annisquam Destination York Main. Much bother with fog. first in Annisquam later near harbor entrance of York. [[strikethrough]] Finally lobster [[/strikethrough]] Found iron bow of large Belvoner Yacht lost in the fog. finally lobster man shows us the way to channel

Just when we reach it fog clears, and everything is sunny and serene. Excellent shelter in harbor near large brick hotel ^[[(Marshall Hotel]] Went ashore shopping.
September 2. Fog seems cleared so we leave for Portland Main. Hardly left harbor when we are overcome by dense fog. So had to drop anchor and keep fog bell ringing while rolling in the ocean swells. Lewis went out in dinghy armed with whistle and megaphone. while I kept ringing the bell. He can locate one buoy but not the other and reports dangerous rocks near by. So we have to remain where we are
