to learn that Kirk Brown tries to supplant bakelite at Boonton by Condensite but I asked Seabury if perchance he or one of his men had complained about the quality of bakelite to Kirk Brown. Seabury admitted this was the case. Then I told him this was the answer. and that if any raw resin had been objectionable in the past he certainly had no right to complain for any recent material which he acknowledged I told him that by his rashness he had in the same way brought about a misunderstanding with Redman. whom he had given the impression that our varnish does not keep and was defective while in reality he had never

used nor bought our varnish preferring to make it himself and contrary to our advice I perceive more and more that Seabury is a rather ticklish proposition, moody and impetuous and prone to make a mountain out of a mole heap and this being about regrettable misunderstandings. In the future I shall try to be more cautious about acting on any of his statements.
