Kedging and entanglements [[strikethrough]] wh [[/strikethrough]] with 2 sailboats aground alongside of us. About 9 [[strikethrough]] P [[/strikethrough]] AM got afloat and drifted into channel [[strikethrough]] alo [[/strikethrough]] stern first, keeping position by playing the paddles now and then. Finally managed to swing Then at 10:30 a [[red underline]] long wait [[/red underline]] at the lock and bridge till bridge opens
This boat draws about 4' some say 3'7" and has side paddles If she were constructed with stern wheel as boats of Anglo-American Co. she would draw considerably less and afford more beam to clear the locks which for "Arabia" and "Egypt" are barely wide enough to clear the side paddles.
[[red underline]] Got stuck once more [[/red underline]] in afternoon but managed to get out after short delay. Arrive [[red underline]] Asswan [[/red underline]] about 4P.M. No letter for me
