The jigger sail is tied on its mast while the clew is aft at d and there by means of the 2 sheets can be let out either side, or easily pulled in and furled against the mast. Altho' wind was rather light we made [[strikethrough]] good [[/strikethrough]] steady headway. Boat was rather heavy for such a small sail. and we were able to run rather close to the wind
[[strikethrough]] As oa [[/strikethrough]] [[red underline]] Instead of oarlocks all fisherman [[/red underline]] here and in Italy use wooden pins and run a gasket over the handles of the oars. I believe this is better than oarlocks and less liable to get an oar adrift. Went around both Islands and returned at sunset. Pleasant day
