June 19. Patterson and Briggs came to explain me how I can save taxes by taking out an annuity policy.
Very hot and busy day.
Redman tells me Kirk Brown does not tell the whole story 
That it is [[underline]] his [[/underline]] customer Taylor only who has trouble and shows me a letter of O'Connor of the Formica Co written many months ago, protesting against unfair competition of Taylor who makes cheap laminated goods and undersells and foretells the trouble which will result

therefrom. Rossi and Redman both assure that no other laminators have any such trouble. Another instance where K.B has a way of introducing a plausible point of view while hiding the full facts.
All day with Rossi & Redman on Research and other business matters. Back with 5:45 P.M. very tired but much interested again in bakelite matters
June 20. At 9:30 A.M. meeting of General Bakelite Directors at R&H. Very hot and sultry George Baekeland present and George Roll a director. Townsend there Hays & Hammond missing Then executive meeting of B.Co. Karpen and Redman present. I began by showing conclusively how Kirk Brown as a General Manager is an impossibility. He makes enemies everywhere.
