120 day writing belated letters July 5. Went to French Consul to receive my decoration of Legion d'Honneur July 7. Fred Kershaw the sailor I had engaged proves lazy and unreliable. I found him sound asleep this morning at 10 A.M. so I discharged him Drove down town to Sailor's Institute and engaged a young Dane Louis Frederiksen on trial Then remained on Ion till 6 P.M July 8 (Sunday) Mr. Jack Mumford who is to write a short story of Bakelite came here for lunch and we had a very interesting talk about many subjects July. 9. Went to meet Doherty of Devies & Dolherty attorneys on subject of Tariff Commission also Hays. then back at office July 10.
