Amboy Arrived there 7:30 P.M. Calm weather tide with us. Engine not running at its best. Passed P.A. Light house 7:20 P.M.
Aug 2. At factory all day. I protested against big wooden ship "Newton" of the Naval Reserves tied on our dock. Telephoned to Schleussner of this fire-risk. He says he will act.
Told ^[[again]] to Rossi about desirability of buying piece of land opposite [[strikethrough]] side [[/strikethrough]] our factory.
Aug 3. President Harding died yesterday. Spent all day at factory. Max Toch at factory
Aug 4. Left early under sail.
Light winds and very hot. Dropped anchor. Horse Shoe.
Aug 5. (Sunday). Went out digging soft shell clams. Then went fishing off Sandy Hook. Lewis caught the only fish

Then proceeded under power for Manhasset Bay. Dropped anchor about 5 P.M. [[strikethrough]] Warm [[/strikethrough]] Hot day.
Aug 6. Bright and sunny. Light N.W. winds. Went sailing close-hauled. Practiced furling and tacking maneuvers. Back before sunset at our same anchorage. Put in water and ^[[125 gals]] gasoline.
Aug 7. Sailed away about 12. Very light winds, SE. Dropt anchor Oyster Bay about 6 P.M. Quiet pleasant night.
Aug 8. Left under power about 10 AM after swim. Dropt anchor Port Jefferson about 2 P.M. Delay by pulling off Ladrone an auxiliary yawl-yacht. who was aground. Visited Breese Yacht yard. He showed me Harpoon under construction and [[strikethrough]] Westward [[/strikethrough]] one finished boat same size.
Aug 9. Left under power about noon then all sails. Dropt anchor Lloyds Harbor 5 P.M
