Penekere sailed to Quassenquisset another well protected little harbor. A small hotel near by [[strikethrough]] Mis [[/strikethrough]] Many small sail boats Walked to Wood's Hole Telephoned to NY office nobody in from 12 to 3 P.M. Sailed back to Hadley Harbor walked in the woods. Mussels, periwinckles and clams. on shore
[[underline]] Aug 31. [[/underline]] Pinchere and Baldwin left for south Darmouth ION for Edgartown. Small town mostly occupied by summer visitors. quaint clean and simple. [[strikethrough]] Winter [[/strikethrough]] After summer visitors are gone people start fishing Excellent Bay for small sailing. Many small sail boats. Swordfish steak for sale, big clams, lobsters etc
[[underline]] Saturday Sept 1, 1923 [[/underline]] went under power to Nantucket. Slight Southerly Breese. Beautiful even

[[?]] Nantucket quite a summer colony. Several good sized yachts moored near Y.C. Anchored further away. Had excellent time sailing around bay in dinghy. Nantucket, clean quaint town. visited by quieter class of summer boarders.
[[underline]] Sunday. Sept 2. 1923 [[/underline]] Left for Point Judith, splendid weather. Anchored there about 7 P.M.
[[underline]] Monday Sept 3. 1923 [[/underline]] Spent all morning correcting Mumford's MSS  Afternoon left for Stonington. Conn At Watch Hill overtaken by fog a worst part of the course. Managed to find entrance to Stonington and anchored there at 6:30 P.M. Good anchorage Gas, water and ice near by.
