Redman had told me he has some small debts which are prying on his mind. - so I gave him my check for $800, telling him he can pay me back as soon as his salary [[strikethrough]] is la [[/strikethrough]] or compensation is large enough to permit him to do so and in the mean time I shall charge no interest. He is to start about beginning 1924 at $5500 reg. salary and minimum bonus but I guarantee him at least $6000 in all. Told him if he is not worth more he is not the man we want but of course will be of limited use to us before he gets acquainted with his job. He seems very pleased.
