Manager tells me he has still room for one or two guests, Crowd arrives in February Departed at 1 P.M. Familiar course, good wind Tried to anchor near [[red underline]] Pigeon Key [[/red underline]] near viaduct but bottom is too hard so beat against the wind until at sunset we reached behind the wall [[end page]] [[start page]] 59 of [[red underline]] Knight Key. [[/red underline]] Excellent bottom and good shelter just behind shoal which extends from first arch. Quiet night excellent sleep. Jan 24. Easter still blowing Up anchor and homeward bound. 8 A.M. Close hauled. Pass [[red underline]] Bamboo key 9 A.M. [[/red underline]] Strong breeze Channel key 11 AM. Bowleg channel 12:20 P.M. Anchor beyond [[red underline]] Tavernier [[/red underline]] Cut good bottom but Mosquitoes. 2:20 P.M. Wind dying At sunset a few mosquitoes for awhile. Put on mosquito head netting, leggins and gauntlets for awhile then after dark mosquitoes passed away quiet night. Jan. 25. Up anchor 8 A.M.
