Mosquito netting around beds is very irritating and a stupidly inefficient arrangement for excluding mosquitoes. Hotel belongs to Railroad and is well managed by an American. Room with shower bath only $3.50, meals are good and not expensive. - sea food fresh and well prepared 
First night poor sleep on account of noise and a couple of mosquitoes inside the net.

here to morrow. Only 2 cabins. Bought one for myself alone paid $42.50 
Wanted explore bay with sail boat. None available. The "Club Nautico", near by is mainly for Tennis purposes and has only rowing boats.
So hired a motor launch and went to explore well protected bay. Average depth 5 fathoms only 3 1/2 fathoms over bar at entrance near [[red underline]] Fortress where Hobson [[/red underline]] sent that ship to bottle up [[red underline]] Cervera's fleet [[/red underline]] The bay offers abundance of good shelter for small craft but is difficult to enter for any [[strikethrough]] large steamers [[/red underline]] but small draft steamers. No fish but [[strikethrough]] Lang [[/strikethrough]] Stone-crabs (Congrejos) are fished in the bay. Scantly wooded slopes all [[strikethrough]] rou [[/strikethrough]] around, pretty view.
