May 17. To day there is some sunshine. Went to visit [[red underline]] Owen's [[/red underline]] new laboratories and arrange for [[red underlined]] Weston Medal day [[/red underlined]]. Then to see [[red underlined]] Rosengarten [[/red underlined]] and told him about my plan of participation in endowment. He likes it much and says he will do 50% of what I do.
With 4 P.M. train to New York.

May 19. Morning to office.  Afternoon 4:10 Faculty Meeting Applied Science. [[red underline]] Adoption of 5 year course for [[strikethrough]] chemical [[/strikethrough]] Engineering. The Chemical Engineering. The Chemical Engineering Dept only protesting [[/red underlined]].
May 20. Left at 10 A.M. got room at University Club. Evening [[red underline]] Huguenot Walloon dinner of Wm DeForest [[/red underline]] at Council Room.  Ambassador [[red underline] de Cartier, Hoover [[/red underline]] and many others there. Poor speeches. Sat next to a [[strikethrough]] preco [[/strikethrough]] precocious young Belgian Hoover-scholarship man, called Crockaers who has very irritating manners and is light headed
