Evening went to University Club and prepared [[underline]] Planter's Punch in Robert Bridge's room for Peet, Semple, Holden, Taylor, Strong etc. [[/underline]] Much appreciated Sept. 16. Packed for Philadelphia then drove to ION. Met Prof Crouch there long talk and discussion about boats, etc. Very enjoyable. Drove to [[underline]] University Club [[/underline]] for lunch. [[underline]] Pupin [[/underline]] there, drove together to 3 P.M train for Philadelphia. Two hours spent in discussing colloids which seems a new subject to [[underline]] Pupin [[/underline]] Some interesting deductions Arrived Bellevue - [[end page]] [[start page]] 33 Stratford. Many participants of [[underline]] Franklin Institute [[/underline]] Center several already there. Many distinguished British Scientists Prof. [[underline]] Alleman [[/underline]] who seems the executive part, very busy but invites Pupin and [[underline]] Donnan and & [[strikethrough]] 2 others [[/strikethrough]] ^[[Fabri]] [[/underline]] for supper. All very interesting. Sept. 17. Up early. But it rains and procession in gowns and regalia towards Theater had to be given up. Rosengarten conducted [[underline]] W.H Nichols and ^[[Prof.]] Abrahams [[/underline]] & wife - from [[underline]] Paris [[/underline]] and myself in his car.
