Took Dr. Rice from Pa Station to his hotel in my car. He told me his reminiscences of Vanderpoel To bed early.
[[underline]] Sunday Sept. 21 [[/underline]] Well rested and up early at work with belated correspondence. Afternoon went to boat and took new mahogany [[underline]] pram dinghy [[/underline]] out in Hudson for sail. Dick with me. Went twice thru Spuyten Duivel Bridge then crossed the Hudson. She sails very well and is easy to manage. Sail hangs well
Monday Sept 22. To office all day. Hectic work. Belated mail, interview with George [[underline]] Swan, Quigley, George [[/underline]] [[strikethrough?]] Roll [[/strikethrough?]] etc

home for supper.
[[underline]] Tuesday. Sept 23. [[/underline]] Early at office. Then with Denis & Dr. Moore lunch at University Club. Afterwards visited Radio Exhibition, then back to office then home.
[[underline] Wednesday. 24. [[/underline]] Went to official opening of Plant Research Institute of Col. [[underline]] Boyce Thompson. [[/underline]]
Splendid outfit well designed and well planned. Mostly botanists there also some chemists. Beautiful weather. House of Thompson very beautiful so are his gardens. Took [[underline]] Edwin Slosson, Prof. Freas and Prof. Sherman [[/underline]] home for supper. Very pleasant party.
Sept. 25. Met for [[underline]] executive board [[/underline]] meeting. All present. [[underline]] Redman [[/underline]] submits some excellent samples of R.M.B also some splendid samples of glyceride material
