Steering was not of the best and course was not strictly parell to shore. This seems to indicate that at 950 rev. we shall be able to average 9 Knots or better than with [[strikethrough]] 10 [[/strikethrough]] Ralaco engine.
Propeller is 24" diam x 16" pitch
Engine did not overheat and ran very well.  
The clutch pedal is a great advantage for rapid control.

Nov. 1. Professor [[underline]] Ames [[/underline]] of Johns Hopkins came with Dr. Hutchinson to ask me to join their [[underline]] committee for raising funds for John's Hopkins. [[/underline]] Explained him how I have my hands full at present with similar work for A.C.S. so cannot accept.
At noon lunch at University Club,  [[strikethrough]] Professor E.C.C. Baly University of Liverpool and Kellifer my guests [[/strikethrough]] with General Crozier. Conversation drifts back to nitrates and war work.
