Nov 23. (Sunday).  Feel very well rested.  This [[strikethrough]] has been [[/strikethrough]] is my most restful period since I left.  Went for lunch at [[underline]] University Club, [[/underline]] opened about a year ago.  Excellent lunch well served.  Club is next to Shenley Hotel.  An [[underline]] admirably tastefully [[strikethrough]] run [[/strikethrough]] built Club.  Quiet, restful [[/underline]] [[?astute]].  Regret now I did not go there instead of Shenley  Afternoon went to listen

to exquisite [[underline]] Organ Recital [[\underline]] in [[underline]] Carnegie [[/underline]] Building nearby.  Every seat taken by [[underline]] quiet well behaved audience [[/underline]] of all classes of society.  No Entrance fee.  A well managed concert.
Nov. 24.  Took train 10. AM. for Erie, Pa.  Peckham driving at to the Station at [[underline]] Erie [[/underline]] to large well run hotel.  Ohio River.  Shallow draft boats with stern paddles
Steel - Coal - Iron - Cement etc. industries.
Short nap.  Then evening to a small building [[underline]] "The University Club. [[/underline]]  About 50 attendance.  Simple dinner first.  Most men here are either in paper or pulp or rubber.  [[underline]] Dr. Henkel [[/underline]] a German is Chairman.  [[underline]] [[?Shirey]] [[/underline]] left for Chicago.  This is a recently formed section.  Warmly received my address.
