[[underline]] Zinsser [[\underline]] was put next to me at dinner table.  I would have preferred more congenial company. [[underline]] Townsend [[\underline]] evidently [[underline]] has lost sight of our affairs [[\underline]] and does not see the incongruity of initiating a total change with our intimate details which he would not grasp in less than a year.  I told him so.  also intimated how [[underline]] George B. should be a director. [[\underline]]
Then hurried to annual dinner of Association Synthetic Organic Manufacturers.  [[underline]] Francis Garven [[\underline]] made an excellent speech [[underline]] warning [[\underline]] against the possible harm [[?Dawes]] plan will do to our chemical manufacturers by giving strength thru common raised capital to German chemical manufacturers.
