Have managed to put everything I want in one large dress suitcase, one bag and one hatbox. - Not bad for such a long voyage thru winter climates and tropics!  Eveng George Roll & Nina and [[underline]] Sylvester Roll [[\underline]] here.  Latter is [[underline]] on absence of leave on account of health. [[\underline]]  He has much developed since he left for his [[underline]] consul-job [[\underline]] in Sweden.
Jan 26. Very busy day.  Again no time for lunch.

Jan 27.  Another very busy.  Very cold and windy - Snow storm.  Got letter of credit at bank.
Jan 28.  Very cold -4°F. and much colder during the night.  Went to see [[underline]] Maximilian [[?Taeh]] [[\underline]] to safekeep envelope for me.  He is very glad to do so.  
No news from [[underline]] Rossi [[\underline]] about lease of R & H. factory.  [[underline]] Schleussner ill [[\underline]]
Jan [[?28/29]].  First to dentist teeth cleaned.  Then [[underline]] Dr. Getty vaccinates [[\underline]] me and gave injection of [[underline]] typhoid antitoxin. [[\underline]]  Then New York, arm pains and reaction to injection makes me feel as if I had beginning influenza.  To bed early, tired and sore
Jan 29.  Feel better.  Pain has subsided.  More snow.  River frozen over.
