158 Oct. 4 (Sunday) Spent all morning on ION rearranging charts etc in my cabin Mrs. Baskerville in Yonkers for luncheon. [[underline]] Oct 5 [[/underline]] Dictated my financial report and plans Mrs. [[underline]] Kirk Brown was killed yesterday [[/underline]] in an automobile accident [[underline]] Kirk Brown driving. [[/underline]] For lunch at Century, for supper at University Club [[underline]] Oct 6 [[/underline]] Went to N.Y Engineering Co in Yonkers to show them how to mend my gasoline tank for ION. Then went shopping for packing for man holes. All day at office. [[underline]] Socony burner people are [[/underline]] [[strikethrough]] keeping [[strikethrough]] not attending to finishing their job. [[left margin]] heating for Snug Rock [[/left margin]] Wrote indi [[end page]] [[start page]] 159 gnant letter about the clumsy careless, unskilled workmen they employ [[underline]] Oct. 7. [[/underline]] All day at office at noon lunch with members of [[underline]] Cruising Club [[/underline]] at White Horse Tavern, 114 W. Oct 9. Rainy day. Dick & Jim & myself finishing hand holes in gasoline tank [[underline]] Oct 10 Violent N.W. gale and very cold weather [[/underline]] near freezing All day on ION while tank is being [[strikethrough]] replaced [[/strikethrough]] put in position Cold windy job!
