Nov. 16. All day at office.  [[underline]] Evening to Columbia Memorial Evening Prof. Charles F. Chandler. Butler, Elihu Root, Peigram made excellent speeches.  But Pupin and Elihu Root were the best both bringing in reminiscences of their youth [[/underline]]
Nov 17. Meeting of [[underline]] Brill and Hays [[/underline]] the former here to sell me a $1000000 endowment policy to provide for funds for inheritance "tax" in case of [[strikethrough]] debt [[/strikethrough]] death.

Nov 18, 1925. Drove to [[underline]] Bloomfield [[/underline]] Factory very busy molding mixtures.  [[underline]] New research laboratory [[/underline]] in full going condition. [[underline]] Well planned, cheerful and comfortable [[/underline]] but [[underline]] no unnecessary luxury. Good work going on. Discussed paper wet process situation with Cheetham and Wightman. Dr. Taylor [[/underline]] our [[underline]] physicist [[/underline]] makes very good impression and has built up his laboratory [[underline]] showing resourcefulness. [[/underline]]  Drove back to New York with [[underline]] Redman [[/underline]] and [[underline]] Mory [[/underline]] to Chemists Club where dinner was given in honor of living past presidents. They were all there except [[underline]] Kerman [[/underline]] who is ill and [[underline]] Metzzer [[/underline]] in California A very enjoyable evening, [[strikethrough]] with [[strikethrough]] wit humor and sentiment combined - well arranged by [[underline]] Turner [[/underline]] and [[underline]] MacKenzie.
