bright encouraging but very cold sun. Got along all right (See log book) and at 1:30 P.M dropped anchor off [[underline]] Fernandina [[/underline]] where for first time we found [[underline]] temperature quite comfortable [[/underline]] altho' [[underline]] only 60˚F. [[strikethrough]] But [[/strikethrough]] Filled all tanks with gasoline (21 1/2 c per gallon) at well managed dock of Teas oil ^[[Petersen]] Co. Sent Petersen ashore with telegram for home then went back to anchor. Quiet calm mild evening. Very restful.
December 25. Pleasant calm weather. Left at 8:30 A.M. Everything went well [[underline]] until after most difficult part [[/underline]] of the route we ran aground ^[[aground]] at 9:30 A.M. and had to [[underline]] wait [[/underline]] till

2:30 P.M. the [[underline]] rising tide [[/underline]] put us again afloat. In the meantime I went rowing for [[underline]] oysters [[/underline]] and had delightful [[underline]] oyster lunch in the row boat [[/underline]] For [[underline]] Christmas [[/underline]] lunch had broiled [[underline]] fresh shrimp [[strikethrough]] and [[/strikethrough]] and peas, [[/underline]] while waiting for rising tide. No further incidents and at 4:15 anchored in a calm little side river to [[underline]] Sister River near St. John's River [[/underline]] as it began to rain. Busy till late arranging my sailing directories up to date. First opportunity I had

[[/underline]] Everything went well and dropt anchor near old Spanish Fort at [[underline]] St. Augustine [[/underline]] at 1:30 P.M. Milder here about [[underline]] 60˚F.
