Herreshoff who has built a little cottage near by tinkering at some fixture for his boat. Also Mr ^[[Hines]] Hine installed in a new little [[underline]] cottage. The camp and Yacht Club and boat house sites have been sold so they [[/underline]] all retreated on [[underline]] Monroes land. Furious blasting and dredging [[/underline]] is going on about five miles South but [[underline]] Coconut Grove for the moment at least has escaped the upheaval; [[/underline]] so tomorrow [[underline]] I shall anchor [[/underline]] in this quiet and natural spot
[[underline]] Jan 5. 1926 [[/underline]] Quiet night pleasant sunshine and about noon [[underline]] left for Coconut Grove [[/underline]] What a rest Went sailing in [[underline]] sail Pram; [[/underline]] delightful

Jan 6. Brushing up ship. Sunny, pleasant 80°F water 76°. Mrs & Mrs. [[underline]] Nat. Herreshoff [[/underline]] came aboard. [[underline]] Herreshoff is now 78 and shows his age [[/underline]] but he tinkers along and is always fitting or making something or another. He has a new sail boat (yawl) the "Pleasure" to toy with and keeps her clean and sails her about
Jan 7. Same pleasant weather afternoon [[underline]] went out sailing with Herreshof and Munroe in Herreshofs yawl [[/underline]] which he handles very well ([[underline]] See Log Book [[/underline]])
[[underline]] Jan 8. [[/underline]] Rain all day. Time for fixing up things.
Jan 9. Rain & cloudy. Went to [[underline]] Miami in sail pram [[/underline]] had 2 hrs against [[underline]] wind [[/underline]] and 1 1/4 hr to come back.
