Jan 10. 1916 (Sunday). Heavy rain all day & colder. [[underline]] Stove to keep up heat.[[/underline]] Much reading During pouring rain. [[underline]] Dr. George Rosengarten [[/underline]] came up in a [[underline]] small motor [[/underline]] boat to visit me and invite me on his yacht the [[underline]] Mariposa.[[/underline]] Afterwards came Mr Raymond of the Cruising Club of America.
Cold night 55°F. in my cabin N.W.

Jan 11. Bright cold morning [[underline]] 55° [[/underline]] and 8 AM.. N.W. blowing but bright cheerful weather - Raison-wine started [[underline]] New. Year [[/underline]] [[?was]] radio  Went out [[underline]] sailing in Pram. Visited Matheson. [[/underline]] Admired once more his [[underline]] tastefully built house. [[/underline]] He told me about his recent voyage in commodore [[underline]] James Yacht [[/underline]] Aloha in Azores and  [[/underline]]

Meditteranean. He [[underline]] trembles more than 2 years ago and [[/underline]] has very unsteady walk. [[underline]] Locomotor Ataxia? [[/underline]] His mind however seems clear.
Jan 12. Bright but cold. NE. Went out to see thru [[underline]] Cape Florida passage. [[/underline]] Caught pailful of grunts. Returned at sunset. One of the most [[underline]] beautiful sunsets I have ever seen; [[/underline]] with the [[underline]] silhouettes of Coconut palms[[/underline]] on the shore. Certainly a beautiful little spot. Too bad it is all being "improved"; by real estate men. The sunset reminded me of the [[/underline]] sunsets in Singapore
Jan 13. Beautiful day. [[underline]] Bent square sail and sailed [[/underline]] in light winds. Telegram from George that my [[underline]] amendements [[/underline]]
