[[underline]] June 2. [[/underline]] Arrived [[underline]] Ritz Carlton [[/underline]] hotel 8:50 Daylight Saving time. Pleasant room. [[underline]] Redman & Mills at Chemical exhibit in Windsor Hotel. [[/underline]] Laminated panels of Mills look very good. Then luncheon sat at [[underline]] speakers table.[[/underline]] Listened to some good papers

on Cellulose lacquers. Evening [[underline]] banquet [[/underline]] - made speech, so did [[underline]] Redman. [[/underline]] He did very well. I spoke about necessity of chemical [[underline]] enterprises being directed by men [[/underline]] who understood [[underline]] technical problems [[/underline]] not merely by bankers or hard boiled businessmen. also [[underline]] about chemical engineering education. The chemical engineer had to be first of all a chemist; [[/underline]] otherwise he risks of being merely a [[underline]] pretentious pipe fitter. [[/underline]]
[[underline]] June 3. [[/underline]] Long talk with Redman over question of Bakelite Corporation - lunch together. Evening supper with Dr. [[underline]] Judson Daland [[/underline]]
[[underline]] June 4. Left Montreal [[/underline]] last night, arrive New York 8:30 Daylight Saving time. Easy trip. 
At office all day. Evening [[underline]] addressed Chemical Teachers Association [[/underline]] - at [[strikethrough]] N.Y. [[/strikethrough]] College of City of New York. Subject: [[underline]] Misdirected Efforts in [[strikethrough]] teaching [[/strikethrough]] Chemistry Teaching. [[/underline]]
