[[underline]] Aug 17. [[/underline]] At office all morning. Talk with [[underline]] Layman as to putting order in our accounting. [[/underline]] See my letter to him. Approved by Rossi, Geo. B and Geo. R. Then long talk with [[underline]] Sanford Brown [[/underline]] about several pending matters. 
Afternoon George and myself went to see Schooner [[underline]] Missoe [[/underline]] for sale at Mamaroneck. [[underline]] Big unwieldy thing, [[/underline]]

rather badly kept. 
In returning home [[underline]] George Baekeland drove me [[/underline]] to his place in [[underline]] Scarsdale. [[/underline]] House is all [[strikethrough]] being [[/strikethrough]] broken [[strikethrough]] out [[/strikethrough]] up, house being enlarged. This is the first time I saw his place. Trees and shrubs very pretty. Rain as usually
[[underline]] Aug 18. Frederic back from Cornell. [[/underline]] Leaves tonight for [[underline]] Adirondacks. [[/underline]] Took George B and Geo Roll from office for supper at home to [[underline]] meet Frederic before he leaves [[/underline]]
[[underline]] Aug 19 [[/underline]] Remained home for a rest and for preparing my [[underline]] tax papers [[/underline]] for 1922-23-24 which will be examined next week. Cool pleasant weather.
