Prince Ginori Conti, [[/underline]] President Italian Chemical Society and Senator of the realm of the guests; [[underline]] also made some pleasant remarks about my wine. [[/underline]] Everything [[underline]] informal [[/underline]] and very pleasant. Afterwards visit to [[underline]] Club library, swimming [[/underline]] pool etc.  A very [[underline]] successful evening [[/underline]] and everybody pleased [[underline]] George B. [[/underline]] and [[underline]] myself remained at the Club overnight [[/underline]] I had instructed [[underline]] Dr. Seydel [[/underline]] of Washington to provide at my expense,

but thru his invitation, a [[underline]] pleasant night for the ladies which I could not receive at the Club. [[/underline]] So he took them for dinner then to see [[underline]] "The Vagabond King" [[/underline]] a musical performance at the [[underline]] Casino Theater. [[/underline]] As I had so many distinguished guests from different countries and so as not to offend their susceptibilities at to rank I had studiously arranged [[underline]] the oval table at the Club [[/underline]] in the beautiful [[underline]] Council Room [[/underline]] so that there would be [[underline]] no seat of honor [[/underline]] by staggering the position of the [[strikethrough]] 3 [[/strikethrough]] 4 Americans. The table was arranged as indicated on following page:
