[[underline]] Sept 7. [[/underline]] Went to [[strikethrough]] division [[/strikethrough]] division of [[underline]] Chemical Education meeting where many foreigners were present. [[/underline]] ^[[Prof.]] [[underline]] Hibbert [[/underline]] of Montreal in [[underline]] wanting to hear himself talk [[/underline]] made a very light-[[underline]] headed remark [[/underline]] about manufacturers not giving enough attention to research work, and

[[underline]] gave as an example the Bakelite Corporation which sometimes might find itself superceded by another and better product. [[/underline]] I answered him that I was [[underline]] amazed [[/underline]] at his lack of information that we had no less than [[underline]] 4 research fellowships in 4 different Universities and of 45 chemists, [[/underline]] physicists and engineers daily at work at our laboratories, in research and development aside of our other chemists en engineers engaged in manufacture, administration and service etc. [[underline]] I was applauded. [[/underline]] - Later on I saw [[underline]] Hibbert [[/underline]] and told him I was enraged at his lack of information. Two
