to see me at the hotel. Something seems to have happened during his interview with his friend [[underlined]] Clarke [[/underlined]] to day, his future partner.
[[underlined]] He told [[/underlined]] me he [[underlined]] came to assure me that whatever happened he would take well care of the interests of Bakelite Corporation. [[/underlined]] That he [[underlined]] had been honored [[/underlined]] by the [[underlined]] trust and confidence [[/underlined]] we [[underlined]] had shown [[/underlined]] to him and that he [[underlined]] hoped I had not felt disappointed by his remarks [[/underlined]] about claims to salary being brought out only after I had told him the inside of our transactions and our situation etc.
I [[underlined]] believe [[/underlined]] he [[underlined]] must have become impressed [[/underlined]] with the [[underlined]] fact that the highest fixed salary we pay in U.S is 10000$ a year [[/underlined]] and [[underlined]] that George B and George R only get about half this salary. [[underlined]] Robson [[/underlined]] & [[underlined]] Paltridge [[/underlined]] there. Robson says [[strikethrough]] " [[/strikethrough]] we shall" need much help from them"! Pleasant weather took leisurely walk along Thames and took luncheon at Metropole Hotel. Excellent musical performance.
At 5 P.M. [[underlined]] Potter, Bishop, Perkins, Kingsbury [[/underlined]] and [[underlined]] Swinburne [[/underlined]] all there and [[underlined]] signed the contracts. That's that! [[/underlined]]
Talked to [[underlined]] Swinburne [[/underlined]] as what to make [[underlined]] Potter's salary. [[/underlined]] He says [[underlined]] £1500 [[/underlined]] will be very well.
Asked [[underlined]] Potter [[/underlined]] what he thinks of [[underlined]] Kingsbury, [[/underlined]] the latter not being put regularly to work but acting
