Evening went to [[underline]] Dinner of Cruising Club. Loomis [[/underline]] giving his experiences during the [[underline]] Fastnet Ocean Race in England. [[/underline]] Home at 11 P.M.
[[underline]] Dec 16. [[/underline]] Busy morning. Took Henry Van Hoorebeke of Antwerp to lunch at University Club. - nothing brilliant in him ordinary business man, came here for business dealings with Tire manufacturers. Rain all day.
[[underline]] Dec. 17. [[/underline]] Bright cold day. All morning at office. Celine in New York, Drove to Yonkers together evening.
[[underline]] Dec 18 [[/underline]] (Sunday) All day at home, working at various matters.

This morning at the office when I was making some friendly recommendations to [[underline]] George Roll he flared up and began his old way of expressing dissatisfaction [[underline]] and [[red underline]] "did not know whether he would quit right now" etc.

And wanted to know why he was not on operating committee and why operating committee had to send him instructions to keep of the accounting department and not meddle and change accounting methods, etc. etc. [[/red underline]] He wanted definite instructions anyhow as [[red underline]] what was his work [[/red underline]] I told him Operating Committee would issue definite instructions all I wanted from him was
