[[underline]] May 1. [[/underline]] The Shriners are meeting in Miami. So as to be far away from that crowd. [[red underline]] Catlow drove me to Matecumbe Key. [[/red underline]] Left 9:30 AM, back 5:20 P.M. A very interesting trip over the new road. Took along some orchids and Bromelias gathered on trees in hammock also some sand creeping vines collected along sea shore.

[[underline]] May 2. [[/underline]] [[red underline]] George [[/red underline]] telegraphs me there is a [[red underline]] meeting [[/red underline]] at office next Wednesday. So [[red underline]] shall leave here Sunday night [[/red underline]]

[[underline]] May 4 [[/underline]] Packing and writing. Wired George am [[strikethrough]] coming [[/strikethrough]] arriving Tuesday.
[[underline]] May 5. [[/underline]] The [[red underline]] beer Catlow made 3 days ago is excellent. [[/red underline]] Busy day packing and putting things in order for my departure. Drew $100 at bank. This morning met Frederick Norris at the bank and he drove me to his house.
Evening visited [[red underline]] Dr. Jeffrey who gave me 6 bottles of his [[/red underline]] ale.
May 6/ Sunday/ The weather has been most agreeable and pleasantly cool, during these latter days. Am sorry to have to leave to night
