September 1.
Very cool and bright. 60 F this morning. No office. To Larchmont.
[[underlined]]Sept 2[[\underlined]](Sunday) Same cool bright weather.
[[underlined]]Sep 3.[[\underlined]] Very sultry and cloudy. The British Chemists have arrived yesterday
Headquarters Commodore Hotel and Chemists Club. Went to register this morning and listen to welcome speech of Redman, Chairman and arriver by Carr President Society Chemical Industry. Only 2 or 3 of the visitors are former acquaintances
At 1 P.M. learned over phone that [[underlined]]Cornelia[[\underlined]] has given birth  to a [[underlined]]healthy looking grandson[[\underlined]] and both are doing well.
Evening Celine and myself went to reception in ballroom of Commodore, all the British visitors and wives there.
