Received statement from [[underlined]] Horn, [[/underlined]] our chief accountant for sales, [[underlined]] profits and costs for 1928 [[/underlined]] first six months as contrasted with those of Aug. 1928 which show the [[underlined]] enormous drop of profits in Bakelite goods sold [[/underlined]] in August under the very low prices recently agreed upon. and which have only gone into effect fully in August  [[underlined]] Average profit of all materials has changed from 6 3/4 cents per lb. to 2 cents per lb. [[/underlined]] and this has only been partially offset by [[strikethrough]] sl [[/strikethrough]] ^[[somewhat]] increased sales, and slight reduction in overhead expenses [[strikethrough]] radio [[/strikethrough]] ratio per lb. [[/underlined]] Our [[underlined]] net profits [[/underlined]] on [[underlined]] Bakelite [[/underlined]] goods have [[underlined]] become as small as 8% on the billing price. [[/underlined]] which shows the [[underlined]] absurdity of spending money on new contemplated central buildings for manufacturing a product on which there is so little profit, [[/underlined]] while on the other hand we can increase our ^[[present]] output at least 3 times in this material with the equipment we now possess.  [[underlined]] Our aim [[/underlined]] must be on the contrary [[underlined]] to open new and better paying fields, [[/underlined]] instead of using all our selling and advertising expenses for goods which barely pay. 
[[strikethrough]] Sept 15 [[/strikethrough]] [[red underlined]] Unexpectedly [[/red underlined]] we find that [[underlined]] Transparent [[/underlined]] brings an average profit of [[red underlined]] 20 cents [[/red underlined]] per lb while we were under the impression that we were losing money in this department.
