This morning George intodued me at office to a young man Stevens,a chemist, who came to present us a fusible [[dark?]] resin which he gets by refining the residue of wood tar destillation and which he says he can sell at 2C a pound He thinks it may find use for some of the [[?]] application of [[baketite?]]. [[Foclevill?]] I sent him this afternoon to Bloomfield, recommending full attention and immediate tests to Weith and Bender so as not to keep the matter dragging and to treat it on its merits.

July 2. Weith assures me that Stevens matter is receiving full attention. They are awaiting his samples
