[[underline]] July 22 George Baeheland [[/underline]] returned from his sailing cruise. Had a very satisfactory interview with him when I broke [[te?]]fact of my disappointment of him writing that agreement letter to [[Surcouf?]] [[strikethrough]] which[[/strikethrough]]without showing it first to me thereby bonding us to [[Surcouf?]] in a way very different from my views. [[underline]] George showed no resentment and admitted his mistake [[/underline]] and [[underline]] I felt happy that this whole delicate explanation was terminated in a most friendly manner.[[/underline]] Feel relieved. This is one of the few serious mistakes he made thus far. I console myself with the [[end page]]

July 23. Celebrated the anniversary of my [[??]] as D. [[??]] by bringing [[??]], Samuel Hill, and [[Haridoin?]] to [[Swing?]] Rock for luncheon then took them to [[Louchmont?]] Yacht Club where we had supper then drove with them back to [[strikethrough]] Unver [[/strikethrough]] University Club. - A very pleasant day.
