temperature on account of humid air. Spent delightful day all alone walking in garden and listening to excellent performance on radio. Also wrote many letters. Very restful.

[[strikethrough]] Mo [[/strikethrough]] The local Theatre is open again so went to see moving pictures this evening. Bright skies no wind 52°F outside at 7 A.M.. In my room 66°F. Hygrometer 70% moisture.
[[underline]] Dec. 30. [[/underline]] Bought furniture at [[red underline]] Sears Roebuck, [[/red underline]] for new appartments.
[[underline]] Dec. 31. [[/underline]] Cloudy.- Pearce was dredging the canal of Art. Curtis James so asked him to [[red underline]] dredge away a lump of rock near the shoal [[/red underline]] of El Jardin.- Paid 20$ for this work which Bunnel had failed to do also found

Furniture arrived here at about 5 P.M. was installed same evening and looks well. 
Busy day, and rather tired early to bed
[[underline]] Jan 1. 1931. [[/underline]] Here all day. Sunny but rather cool. My swim in the tank, the water was 64°F, ordinarily it is 70°F or above. [[red underline]] Seabury visited [[/red underline]] here with [[red underline]] his younger boy. [[/red underline]] His boat the Casco is being repaired at the local boat yard.

[[underline]] Jan 3. [[/underline]] Out with [[red underline]] Fairchild [[/red underline]] and [[red underline]] Wheeler [[/red underline]] to visit [[red underline]] Chapman Field [[/red underline]] Botanical experiment station. [[red underline]] Mr. Brett our new neighbor and president of MacMillan publishers with us. [[/red underline]] A very pleasant gentleman.
