[[red underline]] Wheeler at one time studied in Liege under Van Beneden. [[/underline]]
[[underline]] Jan 11 1931 [[/underline]] Sunday. A quiet reposeful day here in this garden. Spent part writing [[strikethrough]] and lis [[/strikethrough]] reading and listening to radio.
[[underline]] Jan 12 [[/underline]] Mr James E. Dewhurst (phone 23311. 13th floor Dade County Court house) came here this afternoon by appointment to examine my [[red underline]] 1929 tax returns.[[/red underline]] Pleasant man. Seemed astonished

Afternoon went to the Fairchilds. [[red underline]] Wheeler [[/red underline]] there. The [[red underline]] Deanes [[/red underline]] just arrived here for the winter.
[[underline]] Jan 13. [[/underline]] Strong rain 1 1/2" last night. Rain most of the day. - much needed. Wrote a batch of letters

[[strikethrough]] After [[/strikethrough]] Between 6 P.M and 9 P.M. the [[red underline]] radio is like a nightmare [[/red underline]] of [[red underline]] stupid noises called [[/red underline]] music or [[strikethrough]] talks [[/strikethrough]] songs! Fortunately there are [[red underline]] other times when excellent music is given.[[/red underline]] - But not enough. [[red underline]] Cannot imagine how anybody can stand this brutal nonsense. [[/red underline]]
