Nevertheless today at 7 AM. The [[red underlined]] water from [[/red underlined]] the sun heater was [[red underlined]] 70˚F with the air 46˚F. [[/red underlined]] But the sun came out somewhat later and at 10 AM the water had risen to [[red underlined]] +110˚ [[/red underlined]] with the thermometer outside 50˚F  
Sent long telegram to Rossi in regard of [[underlined]] proposal of Raschig [[/underlined]] to buy his [[red underlined]] new synthetic phenol process. [[/red underline]]. George writes me bad news of [[red underlined]] Townsend who had another attack and temporary paralysis. I have feared this for him since many years. [[/red underlined]]
Bright calm sunny day but air temp did not exceed 60˚F. [[red underlined]] Andrew Murray is better [[/red underlined]] and out of bed.

Jan 27. Visit of Henry Downes, Crabbe and Kaltenhorn. The two latter are going off on a cruise
