This afternoon went out with Andrew in my small Cape Cod sloop to explore the water behind the sandbar South of Cocoplum. At high time it is possible to tack and reach the wooded shore. Evening visited [[red underline]] Fairchild [[/red underline]]
[[underline]] April 27 [[/underline]] This afternoon Fairchild gave well attended [[red underline]] talk in Coconut [[/red underline]] Grove Theatre on subject of his plant explorations

[[/red underline]] This evening Sanford Brown phoned telling me about foreclosure proceedings of [[red underline]] Kurz Kash [[/red underline]] also, arrangement for defaulted note of [[red underline]] de Sano. [[/red underline]] Told him could not give better advice than [[strikethrough]] our [[/strikethrough]] Hays & Holmgren and reminded him that years ago when preaching to increase our liquid reserves I had pointed out to the eventuality of financial requirements for just such cases, and others to follow hence more than ever is it necessary to husband our liquid reserves.
[[underline]] April 29. [[/underline]] Sanford Brown again called me at phone this evening for reporting progress on Kurz [[red underline]] Kash & De Sano [[/red underline]] situation also about German matters

April 30. Wired night letter to Hays asking him some questions about the [[red underline]] irrevocable trusts I want to create for George and Nina. [[/red underline]] 
This afternoon went to "tea" of Mrs. Semple. Her husband has come expressly yesterday to urge me to come and that Dr. Fairchild would be there. But he was not, so after a few minutes I left and joined [[red underline]] Fairchild in his laboratory. [[red underline]] Then afterwards he drove me here and we had a glass of beer and as usually a very interesting chat. - [[red underline]] He is a most lovable and inspiring friend and we [[/red underline]] have much in common.

Went to [[red underline]] Miami [[/red underline]] to hear my phonograph discs my talk on "Chemistry" and also of Milliken Welch etc. Went to visit English [[red underline]] Yacht Lexia [[/red underline]] of the royal Yacht Squadron which came over from [[red underline]] England [[red underline]] to join the [[strikethrough]] ra [[/strikethrough]] coming race organized by Cruising Club of America. Fine well built sloop (cutter) yacht with auxiliary 2 cyl. Engine. Owner & captain is Commander Ross-Richards [[/red underline]] who sent me letter of introduction from [[red underline]] Dr. Dolley [[/red underline]]
