I felt very, very tired and irritated, after a very laborious day where I [[strikethrough]] had [[/strikethrough]] was disturbed repeatedly in various work requiring my concentrated attention. I had a 3 hour meeting with [[red underline]] Alan Brown [[/red underline]] discussing his proposed plan of salesmanship where he expressed criticisms and generalities about the defects of our sales committee and plans for the future etc. By sifting his arguments and showing the practical side of all what had to be done I succeeded in showing the relative value of his suggestions etc.
I [[red underline]] feel disquieted with [[strikethrough]] everything [[/strikethrough]] the tendency of introducing so many new things when we have already [[/red underline]] too many irons in the fire and [[red underline]] George wants to go in tiles and roofing. [[/red underline]].
We know now [[red underline]] Pantone [[/red underline]] which is far from ready and is costing us more and more money.
[[red underline]] Same thing [[/red underline]] with our [[red underline]] paper machine [[/red underline]], with with our air drying resins, which this month after one year progress, shows only 50% of sales in pounds for the same month in 1931. not withstanding all the money

All day at office. [[red underline]] George B [[/red underline]] after [[red underline]] signing Harsberger agreement [[/red underline]] left on his vacation until Labor day My work is rendered much more difficult since I lost the assistance of Miss. Bidwell, who knew so many details of my work 
Returned home very tired, as usually

Remained at "Snug Rock" feel very tired and played out.
[[underline]] Aug 28 Sunday [[/underline]] all day busy with the [[red underline]] Lime patent situation. [[/red underline]] Also working out a [[red underline]] budget to match our much reduced income 
Stocks [[/red underline]] lately [[red underline]] have gone up [[/red underline]] and have reached now a [[underline]] height! [[/underline]] which is about equal to the lowest they were at the end of 1931. [[red underline]] What now seems high and encouraging was considered very [[/red underline]] low and discouraging [[red underline]] not so long ago. [[/red underline]] But most dividend [[strikethrough]] sto [[/strikethrough]] paying stocks have either reduced dividends or none at all
[[underline]] Aug 29 [[/underline]]. 
Very busy day at office. [[red underline]] Celine [[/red underline]] arrived here yesterday from Camp and is returning tomorrow early. She came with [[red underline]] Dorothy Zeeryp [[/red underline]] who drove her car.  [[red underline]] Celine [[/red underline]] has entirely recovered.
Aug 30 - Same busy day
[[underline]] Aug 31 [[/underline]] This is the [[red underline]] sun eclipse. [[/red underline]] Complete in Maine & Canada. Almost complete here. Went to [[red underline]] U.C. [[/red underline]] to observe it.  There met [[red underline]] Dr Welch [[/red underline]] of Johns Hopkins, who is now 83
